Green Archers aim high

MANILA, Philippines - Health is wealth is an understatement for athletes, especially for De La Salle University’s basketball team, the Green Archers. Proper nutrition, rigorous training, discipline backed by essential vitamins and minerals are key to an athlete’s performance. That is why DLSU chose Usana Health Sciences as its official supplier of these essential nutrients.  Usana is among the top-ranked manufacturers of food supplements in the US and is now one of the fast-rising health companies in the Philippines.
High-caliber athletes train tirelessly to ensure their bodies are built for optimum performance.  They cannot afford to take risks, which is why many world-class competitors trust Usana. The Green Archers join the ranks of world-class athletes in the prestigious Team Usana roster. Notable are the US and Canadian speed skating teams, Jennifer Botterill of the Canadian women’s hockey team, Canadian track and field athlete Jared Macleod, Brent Newdick, a New Zealand decathlete, and Werner Berger, the oldest North American to climb the summit of Mount Everest.
“To achieve excellence means to be partnered with excellence, and Speed Skating Canada is proud to have Usana as an official supplier to our national team athletes,” says a representative of the Speed Skating Team, Canada.
The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) is also powered by Usana.  According to Kim Clijsters who is now seeing action at the Australian Open: “My mind and body have to be in tip-top shape for the tour, and Usana’s products help me compete at optimal levels.”

In the Philippines, the De La Salle Green Archers has a rich legacy in basketball, with 16 titles in the NCAA and UAAP since 1939, including a four-peat (four consecutive championships) at the UAAP, from 1998–2001 another championship in 2007, and an almost flawless inclusion in the  UAAP finals since it entered the league.
